Bronze Cross + Standard First Aid CPR-C/AED Courses
Candidates in Bronze Cross begin the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities.
Bronze Cross Includes
- Importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies.

Please Note
All candidates must attend the final practice exam which will be held on the final day of the course. No alternative exam date or time is available.
Candidate will be required to complete the written Standard First Aid test prior to the final practical exam.
Required
- Must be at least 11 years old
- First Aid Manual (purchased during registration)
- Canadian Lifesaving Manual (typically acquired during Bronze Medallion course)
Prerequisites
- Bronze Medallion
- Emergency (EFA) from one of these approved agencies.

What to Bring
- At least (1) swim suit
- Due to the physical nature of these courses, it’s recommended that candidates wear a one-piece bathing suit or well-fitting swim trunks.
- A couple of towels
- It’s beneficial to have more than (1) towel in order to stay warm and dry in-between swims.
- Swim Goggles (strongly recommended)
- Borrowing goggles from our ‘lost & found’ is not recommended for health & safety reasons.
- A notebook and a pen or pencil
- The Canadian First Aid manual
- Will be issued candidates who purchased a manual during the first day of camp.
- The Canadian Lifesaving Manual (received during the Bronze Medallion course) is also required.
- Replacement Canadian Lifesaving Manuals can be purchased as an optional ‘add-on’ during registration.

- Arrivals for this course should should check-in at the Welcome Centre Desk in Alumni Hall
- Lot 5 parking is not Free
- Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes before the start of the class
