Ravens Creative Writing and Sports Camp
The Creative Writing and Sports Camp in Ottawa is a fun and friendly day camp for children who want to exercise both their bodies and creative writing skills. This camp offers a stimulating learning environment where children can learn about and engage in many creative writing activities for kids to discover the joy in writing and the intrigue of language and the confidence of authorship. Healthy minds need healthy bodies, and this creative kids summer camp is unique in that much physical activity is built into each day.
Creative Writing & Sports
- Include exposure to various genres such as:
- Fiction
- Poetry
- Comics
- Aboriginal storytelling
- Drama
- The short Story (we develop unique activities for each week – not all genres can be covered in the week, but the children will be exposed to a unique combination of activities that covers many different forms).
- Sports & Activities may include playing a number of games and trying different sports such as:
- Ball Hockey
- Basketball
- Tchoukball
- Field Hockey
- Soccer
- Ultimate
- Track & Field
- Water Games
The Creative Writing and Sports Camp
Is a collaborative effort between the Creative Writing Concentration in Carleton’s Department of English Language and Literature and the Carleton Department of Recreation and Athletics.

The camp will be split into two groups with each groups split into 2-3 year writing groups

Early/Late supervision is available as an ‘add-on’ during registration for $30/week
Early supervision runs from 7:30 – 8:30am
Late supervision runs from 4:30 – 5:30pm.

For Camps
- A full cafeteria LUNCH IS INCLUDED with our March Break and Summer Lifesaving Camps.
- No outside food is allowed inside the dining area.
Our cafeteria has a selection of vegetarian, gluten free and Halal food options.
Our cafeteria does not use any peanut or tree nuts in their recipes, and does not purchase products with peanuts or tree nuts in the ingredient list
There is always a risk of cross-contamination due to its open kitchens and self-serve style. Hence, we advise parents of children with food allergies to communicate these allergies to us when registering.
