Sensei John Notely has been a dedicated student and teacher of Traditional Karate for over 30 years.

• Holding a 5th Dan Black Belt in Karate and a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu, John brings deep expertise and passion to the martial arts community in Ottawa.

Since 1996, he has served as the Head Instructor (Sensei) at the Ottawa Traditional Karate Academy, where he has guided countless students through their martial arts journeys. Known for his knowledge, reliability, and commitment, John continues to inspire and mentor current and future generations of martial artists.

In addition to his leadership at the Academy, John developed, instructed, and managed a Karate Program for the City of Ottawa for over a decade, further contributing to the growth of martial arts in the region.

With more than three decades of experience, John is a respected figure in both Karate and Jiu Jitsu communities, recognized for his technical proficiency, teaching excellence, and unwavering dedication to the martial arts.
